Gemini pricing for Google Workspace: what each plan costs
By 3Gen editorial team. Prices checked on Google’s own pages.
If your company runs on Google Workspace, you already pay for some Gemini. How much you get depends on your Workspace plan. This page shows what each plan includes, what it costs to move up, and how the separate Google AI and Gemini Enterprise plans fit in.
If you want an assistant that acts on your email, calendar and calls instead of one built into Google’s apps, OpenAssistant is our recommendation for that job. It starts free.
Gemini by Workspace plan
From workspace.google.com/pricing. Per user per month, US prices, before tax.
| Workspace plan | Yearly commitment | Flexible (monthly) | Gemini included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Starter | $7.00 | $8.40 | Gemini AI assistant in Gmail; chat with Gemini; Google Vids. Gemini in other Workspace apps is “limited” |
| Business Standard | $14.00 | $16.80 | Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Meet and more; Gemini Notebook with expanded access; the Gemini app with expanded access to models and features |
| Business Plus | $22.00 | $26.40 | Everything in Standard. The extra cost buys security and compliance tools (Vault, eDiscovery, more storage), not more AI |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | Contact sales | Everything in Plus, plus AI Classification for Google Drive |
Business plans top out at 300 users. Enterprise has no minimum or maximum.
The jump that matters is Starter to Standard. Starter puts Gemini in Gmail and the Gemini app. Standard puts it in Docs, Meet and the rest of Workspace. The difference is $7 a user a month on yearly billing ($14 minus $7), or $84 a user a year.
Plus does not add AI. If Gemini is the reason you are upgrading, Standard is the plan to buy.
Yearly vs flexible billing
Google labels the yearly commitment “Save 16%.” On our numbers it is 16.7%: Standard is $16.80 flexible vs $14.00 yearly, and ($16.80 minus $14.00) ÷ $16.80 = 16.7%.
Introductory offers come and go. The page showed an introductory discount for new customers. The plan cards and the footnote described its length differently (the cards said 3 months; the footnote said the first 20 users, for 12 months), and the size of the discount differed between two visits on the same day. Check the page when you buy and budget for the standard price.
What it costs for a team
Assumption: 10 users, yearly commitment, standard prices.
| Plan | Math | Per year |
|---|---|---|
| Business Starter | 10 × $7 × 12 | $840 |
| Business Standard | 10 × $14 × 12 | $1,680 |
| Business Plus | 10 × $22 × 12 | $2,640 |
Moving 10 people from Starter to Standard for fuller Gemini costs $840 a year more.
Google AI plans (personal accounts)
Google also sells Gemini to individuals as Google AI plans (gemini.google/subscriptions). These are priced per person per month and bundle storage:
| Plan | Monthly | Storage | Gemini |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 15 GB | Flash-Lite model; Deep Research; Gemini Live; Canvas; Gems |
| Google AI Plus | $4.99 | 400 GB | 2x Free usage; Gemini in Gmail and Vids |
| Google AI Pro | $19.99 | 5 TB | 4x Free usage; Pro models; 1M-token context window |
| Google AI Ultra | $99.99 or $199.99 | From 20 TB | 5x or 20x Pro usage |
Usage on these plans refreshes every 5 hours until a weekly limit, and you can buy AI credits to extend it. Google’s page says “no refunds for partial billing periods.”
Google’s FAQ says Google AI Pro needs “a personal Google Account that you manage on your own,” so these plans are not a route for a company-managed Workspace account. For company work, the Workspace plans keep Gemini inside your company’s admin and data controls.
Gemini Enterprise
The same Google page lists Gemini Enterprise for businesses that want Gemini as a company-wide agent platform: Business edition starting at $21 per seat per month, and Standard or Plus starting at $30 per seat per month. The page does not say whether those prices are monthly or yearly billing. It is a separate purchase from Workspace.
How Workspace with Gemini compares
Per user per month, yearly billing.
| Option | Price | Includes email and office apps? | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Workspace Business Standard (Gemini in Docs, Meet, Gmail) | $14.00 | Yes | |
| ChatGPT Business, Standard seat | $20.00 | No | chatgpt.com |
| Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot | $23.50 | Yes | Microsoft |
Of the three options above, Workspace Business Standard is the cheapest that puts AI in documents, email and meetings, and it includes the apps themselves. Price does not show whether Gemini does the work as well as ChatGPT or Copilot for your tasks, and this page does not judge that.
